Deer carcass found in bag
A deer carcass was to blame for multiple investigative agencies responding to the First Street bridge over the North Fork River on Monday afternoon.
One of the first law enforcement officers on scene poked a hole in the bag and saw “suspicious material” and blood, according to officials.
Sgt. Bob Rose with the Nebraska State Patrol said the contents turned out to be a deer carcass, double wrapped in plastic and disposed of along the bank.
Because of where the bag was located, the Norfolk Fire & Rescue boat was used to recover the bag containing the carcass.
Also responding to the scene were the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission.
