Muir now with Wichita
The ECHL’s Wichita Thunder claimed Aidan Muir off waivers Sunday, perhaps completing a whirlwind several days for the rookie.
He had been traded from the Komets to Orlando, along with future considerations, for Brady Shaw on Tuesday. However the Muir portion of the trade was voided Friday because, according to Komets general manager David Franke, Muir failed a physical.
At issue was an old hand injury - he had been cut by a skate - but the injury had passed muster enough for him to play at Western Michigan and for the Komets.
The Komets subsequently waived Muir and sent Justin Kea to Orlando on Saturday to complete the Shaw trade. Kea was was immediately flipped by Orlando to Toledo for, according to a source, future considerations.
Kea scored against the Komets on Saturday night but Fort Wayne won 5-2 at Memorial Coliseum.
Shaw has one goal and two assists in two games for the Komets.
