TORONTO (AP) _ David Price did not allow any earned runs over five innings in his return from the injured list, and the Boston Red Sox hit four home runs in a 12-2 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays. A 33-year-old left-hander, Price had not pitched since May 2 because of left elbow tendinitis. He allowed three hits, struck out four and walked none, throwing 67 pitches. CLEVELAND (AP) _ Indians pitcher Corey Kluber will have an X-ray on Thursday to evaluate his right arm, broke when hit by a line drive on May 1. Kluber has had his arm in a cast since being injured. Cleveland manager Terry Francona says the cast could be removed and replaced with a removable splint, depending on the results of the X-ray. A two-time AL Cy Young Award winner, Kluber was diagnosed with a nondisplaced fracture to his ulna when struck by a line drive off the bat of Miami’s Brian Anderson.
NEW YORK (AP) _ The sister of former NBA player Sebastian Telfair has been accused of threatening a witness who took the stand last month at his New York City gun-possession trial. Octavia Telfair was charged on Monday in federal court in Brooklyn and released on $100,000 bail. There was no immediate response on Monday to a request for comment from her attorney.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered a review of the state medical board’s handling of the late Ohio State University team doctor Richard Strauss’ case and called for lawmakers to lift the statute of limitations on rape charges. The Republican governor signed an executive order at a Statehouse news conference Monday creating a group to review a complete, unredacted version of an investigative report released last week to see what the board knew about Strauss and when.
LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Manny Pacquiao will get back into the ring on July 20 to face unbeaten welterweight champion Keith Thurman in what could be a highlight fight of the summer. Pacquiao, 40, dominated Adrian Broner to retain his portion of the welterweight title in January. He will take on Thurman for the WBA belt. Thurman outpointed Joselito Lopez in January.
