SCOTT DEPOT — On Wednesday, Feb. 20 at noon. all senior adults and anyone interested in helping to support the lives of seniors in Kanawha and Putnam counties are invited to a free lunch to hear about “Faith in Action,” a non-profit that provides extra support for senior adults including transportation, shopping and errand running, visits, inhome support and more.

The lunch will be held at Teays Valley Church of God at 185 Connection Point in Scott Depot, just east of Rocky Step off Teays Valley Road. Director, Jennifer Waggener, will be on site to talk about their programs and volunteer opportunities.

“We want to come alongside other groups that are helping to give life to people in our community,” said the Rev. Thom Pratt, one of the church’s pastors. “We want to educate our community about resources that can help them live well, and we want to get the word out about volunteer opportunities that can give people a meaningful way to give back.”

A formal training for anyone interested in volunteering time with “Faith in Action,” will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, at Teays Valley Church of God.

Call the church office to register for the free lunch and training at 304-757-9222.
