ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Garret Anderson and Randy Velarde had four hits each, and Omar Olivares shut down Texas on three hits in 7 1-3 innings to lead the Anaheim Angels over the Rangers 10-0 Saturday night.

Anaheim had 19 hits and has 31 in a pair of victories against Texas this weekend. The Angels scored at least one run in each of the first six innings.

While Rick Helling (0-2) threw 26 pitches in each of the first two innings, Olivares (1-0) needed just 32 total in the first three. He didn’t give up a hit until Tom Goodwin singled leading off the fourth and didn’t allow a runner past second in the first six innings.

Mike Magnante and Shigetoshi Hasegawa followed Olivares with hitless relief.

Texas starters have been a bust in the first week of the season, with only Aaron Sele making it through five innings.

Helling allowed hits to the leadoff batter in each of the first four innings, and eight of his first 10 batters reached. He was pounded for six runs and nine hits in 3 2-3 innings, raising his ERA to 14.85.

Orlando Palmeiro and Velarde led off the game with consecutive singles, and Palmeiro scored when Darin Erstad grounded into a double play.

Anderson, who drove in three runs, and Troy Glaus led off the second with singles. Matt Walbeck then hit into a run-scoring double play and Palmeiro’s RBI single made it 4-0.

Anderson had a run scoring single in the third, and Velarde’s two-run single chased Helling in the fourth. Todd Greene hit an RBI single in the fifth, and Anderson hit a two-run single in the sixth for a 9-0 lead. Greene singled in a run in the eighth.

Notes: Rangers pitchers walked four, giving them just 11 walks in five games this season. ... Palmeiro also got Anaheim off to a fast start Friday with a first-inning homer.
