Crusaders Crotty & Barrett to miss Super Rugby final
WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — All Blacks Ryan Crotty and Scott Barrett have been sidelined by hand injuries and will miss the Super Rugby final for the Christchurch-based Crusaders against Argentina’s Jaguares on Saturday.
Center Crotty suffered a broken thumb during the Crusaders’ semifinal against the Wellington-based Hurricanes and will be out of action for up to eight weeks, likely missing the Rugby Championship test series.
Lock Barrett is out for six weeks with a broken finger, also sustained in the semifinal. He will miss at least the start of the Rugby Championship. The All Blacks’ first match is against Argentina on July 21.
The Crusaders are attempting to win the Super Rugby title for the 10th time and for the third straight year.
