Alabama jurors asked for death sentence in death
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A jury in Alabama is being asked to recommend a death sentence for a man they say killed another man more than three years ago.
Al.com reported a jury in Birmingham on Monday convicted 43-year-old Patrick Logan of capital murder in the 2015 shooting death. Prosecutors said robbery was the motive in the death of 42-year-old Rodney Allen Canterberry.
Canterberry was found dead from gunshot wounds to the head and stomach next to his vehicle near Morris.
Prosecutors say Logan’s 35-year-old girlfriend, Nicole Friese, arranged to meet Canterberry for sex so the couple could rob him. Friese pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of felony murder. Her plea agreement called for her to testify against Logan and serve five years of a 20-years sentence.
