Van Den Berg Leads Els at Dunhill
NELSPRUIT, South Africa (AP) _ Ulrich van den Berg shot a 7-under 65 Saturday to take a two-stroke lead over Ernie Els after three rounds of the Dunhill Championship.
Van den Berg had six birdies and overcame a bogey-4 on the 5th with an eagle-2 on the 6th.
``I’ve got the tools and there’s no reason why I shouldn’t be holding that trophy on Sunday afternoon,″ Van Den Berg said. ``Whatever comes along, I’m prepared for everything.″
Els, who had a 68, dropped a shot on the front nine, but picked up three birdies from holes 10 to 15.
He then had an eagle-3 on the 18th to take sole possession of second place in his second tournament after a 4 1/2-month layoff because of a knee injury and surgery.
``That would be a dream comeback for me,″ Els said. ``A win would be a total dream.″
Michiel Bothma, who led after the second round, had a 78 with three double-bogeys and a bogey.
