Second boating crash victim pulled from Colorado River near Topock

The body of one of the missing boaters from Saturday night’s boat crash was found Tuesday morning by Mohave County Sheriff’s divers.

According to MCSO spokeswoman Anita Mortenson, the body of Brian Grabowski, 50, of Tulare, was pulled from the river around 9 a.m. Divers found Christine Lewis, 51, of Visalia, California, on Monday morning. Two boaters are still missing. Divers are continuing to patrol the river near the Topock Gorge area.

The crash occurred between Pirates Cove and Topock Marina around 8 p.m. Saturday. Two boats, one carrying 10 passengers and the other six, collided head on, ejecting all involved in the water. Boat boats sake and passing boats were able to help a number of people from the water, with nine sent to area hospitals. None of the boaters were wearing life vests.
