Greenwich man found dead in Stamford parking lot ruled a suicide
STAMFORD — The death of a man found dead lying next to a shotgun in a West Side parking lot Wednesday morning has been declared a suicide.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the man, identified by Stamford police as Greenwich resident Steven Fockens, was killed by a gunshot wound to the head.
Fockens, 49, was found by Stamford police at 7 a.m. Wednesday in a Harvard Avenue parking lot.
Police said a suicide note was found at Fockens’ Greenwich home.
Gunshots were not reported that morning in the mostly industrial area where the body was found near Greenwich’s eastern border.
