Cam ready to rock with new scoreboard

August 31, 2018

Athletics Facilities and Operations workers reinstall the flooring of the basketball court at the Cam Henderson Center on Thursday at Marshall University.

HUNTINGTON — There will be something a little different about the Cam Henderson Center when fans return to catch a volleyball game or a men’s or women’s basketball game this season. The new video scoreboard, located above center court, finished installation this week. The $1 million state-of-the-art, Daktronics center-hung videoboard and basket stanchion displays were privately funded through Marshall University athletics’ relationship with IMG College, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Marshall Athletics.

“This is another significant step in the continuing effort to upgrade the Henderson Center,” Marshall Director of Athletics Mike Hamrick said in a news release announcing the board in May. “This is an exciting development for our basketball and volleyball programs and one that everyone in the Herd family richly deserves.”

To install the new videoboard, the floor of the basketball court had to be removed. Volleyball games had to be moved to Gullickson Hall during the process.
