Meridiana to welcome new on-site middle school, adjacent high school

April 7, 2019

The fast-growing community of Meridiana, which in 2016 welcomed the on-site Meridiana Elementary School, will soon be home to a new onsite middle school and adjacent high school as young families continue to flock to the award-winning enclave of new homes south of Pearland.

The new on-site middle school is expected to open in fall 2020, while the new high school is scheduled to open for the fall semester 2021. By that time, Meridiana will be one of the only Texas 288 communities with an on-site elementary and middle school along with an adjacent high school.

Like Meridiana Elementary School, the two new schools are expected to present a modern look and feel with a strong emphasis on modern instruction technologies and collaborative learning spaces.

In addition to the convenience of on-site schools, Meridiana offers the finest in new homes from the low $200,000s, including those on cul-de-sac homesites and in gated sections.

Residents enjoy unlimited access to Meridiana’s lakefront Oasis Village, a resort-style setting with the all-new Cafe Sol, family pool and cabanas, lap pool, splash pad, fitness center, fishing pier and outdoor play area, all-weather ping pong and foosball tables, shaded sitting areas and lush central lawn. Meridiana’s Park at Adventure Lake, ideal for catch-and-release fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding, opens this spring, while the all-new Explorer’s Park with family playground and tree-lined green space opens this summer.

Visitors can stop by and see why residents say they “love where they live” as Meridiana hosts its annual Paws on the Parkway on Saturday, April 20, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Open to the public, the free celebration of a favorite of four-legged friends and features performances by the high-flying Houston Disc Dogs, live music by Nate Rodriguez, food truck cuisine available for purchase, special offerings from local pet vendors, bounce houses and pet adoptions by the SPCA of Brazoria County.

To reach Meridiana, take the Meridiana Parkway exit from Texas 288 heading north or south.

Heading south from Pearland, take the parkway exit and turn left onto the overpass into Meridiana. Those heading north on Texas 288 can take the parkway exit and turn right into the community.
