Assistant Energy Secretary Being Nominated
WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Reagan will nominate attorney Ernest C. Baynard III to be assistant secretary of energy for environment, safety and health, it was announced today.
Baynard, of Alexandria, Va., was deputy general counsel for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission from 1984 until 1986, and associate solicitor for the division of surface mining at the InteriorDepartment from 1983 until 1984.
Since 1986, he has been with a Washington law firm.
If confirmed by the Senate, he would succeed Mary L. Walker.
