July 12, 2019

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) — Police say a Beaverton police officer fired on a fleeing suspect while detectives were conducting a sex trafficking investigation.

KATU-TV reports police said undercover detectives were working to arrest suspects involved in sex trafficking when the shooting happened at about 11:35 a.m. Thursday.

Detectives arrested one person but another one fled in a blue Infiniti, and police said the suspect sped toward a Beaverton police officer, who then opened fire.

Police say the suspect fled and it wasn’t known if the person was injured by gunfire. Later Thursday, police identified the suspect as 20-year-old Calvin Ramone Davenport.

Police said Davenport is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. He has dark hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

Officers ask anyone who sees him to call 911.
