Ironton aLive introduces new pageant

IRONTON — Ironton aLive is sponsoring the inaugural Miss Ironton Area pageant, set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the RONA theater in downtown Ironton.

The category ages will be from 6 months to 6 years of age for boys Mister and for the girls Miss with categories through age 15 for Miss categories. There will be a winner, first, and second place with option categories included for all entrants.

There will also be a Queen’s pageant for ages 16-21 at 7 p.m. Sept. 22. The winner will be expected to attend various activities throughout the year. This age division will be required to introduce themselves and answer a question. A list of questions will be given to each candidate prior to the pageant. There will be a winner, first and second place and a Miss Congeniality chosen by peers and committee.

Interested candidates from Lawrence and Scioto counties in Ohio, Boyd and Greenup counties in Kentucky and Cabell county in West Virginia may call Sam Heighton, Ironton aLive, 740-533-7951 and Pageant Coordinators; Deanna Patrick or Cheryl Cleary for more information and applications.

The committee plans to use proceeds to purchase new Christmas decorations for the city.
