Youth musicians spotlighted at ‘Hollywood Knights’

March 25, 2019

Residents who want to support the Lake Havasu High School band should plan to attend “Hollywood Knights” on April 6.

The festivities at Thunderbolt Middle School’s cafeteria begin at 6 p.m. In addition to being treated to a few hours of music, guests will be served dinner and can participate in a silent auction.

Advance tickets are $20 or $35 per couple. At the door, the cost is $25 or $40 per couple. Children under 5 are admitted free. Corporate tables for $250 include six dinners.

Hosted by the LHHS Band Boosters, fundraiser tickets can be purchased from band students or the boosters. Last year, the boosters and the community raised enough money to help purchase new uniforms. This year, fundraising will defray costs tied to maintaining the band program. Instruments need repair or replacement and the band needs equipment and music as well as travel costs.

For the musical program, band students will perform ensemble pieces and provide background instrumentals during dinner. Expect to see the Jazz Band, Percussion and Drumline, Colorguard, and Wind Ensemble. Kimberly Schreiber is the school’s director of bands and orchestra.

The dinner is hosted by J&L’s Full Throttle BBQ. The menu includes pulled pork, tri-tip, coleslaw, Caesar salad, macaroni and cheese and dessert.

The Silent Auction gives guests the chance to bid on any items offered from local businesses. Items range from gift cards and gift certificates to local restaurants and shops, to home décor and custom-made granite cutting boards plus office and school supplies.
