Actress Anne Hathaway sells Westport home
WESTPORT — Actress Anne Hathaway has sold her Westport home two years after purchasing the beachside property.
According to town records, Hathaway’s Westport home sold at 292 Compo Road South for $2.7 million to Tracy Brenner and Craig Benhamin on Nov. 1, down $90,000 from the price at which Hathaway and her husband, Jonathan Schulman purchased the property for in 2016.
Hathaway, 36, made her film debut as the teenage princess of the fictitious Genovia in the 2001 blockbuster “The Princess Diaries” and went on to receive worldwide acclaim for her performances in the films “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Rachel Getting Married,” “Bride Wars,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” and “Les Miserables” as well as many more.
Although neither Hathaway nor her husband were listed as grantees on the Westport property, neighbors confirmed in 2017 that Hathaway had taken up residence at the Westport property officially owned by Selvaggi Frank Trustee, according to town records.
Hathaway will not be without a place to stay, as she still owns property in Los Angeles and New York City.
