Where Ted Cruz and Beto O’Rourke are campaigning

September 14, 2018

With just 38 days to go until early voting begins, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and Democrat Beto O’Rourke have a busy weekend of campaigning coming up.

Cruz, a Houston area Republican, has campaign speeches planned for Saturday in Gonzalez and Columbus off Interstate 10 between San Antonio and Houston. If his last campaign stops in Houston are any indication, he’ll be talking a lot about his role in the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate and successes he sees under President Donald Trump that need to be defended.

O’Rourke, an El Paso Congressman, is fresh off an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and a New York City fundraiser. He heads for North Texas for events around Dallas, Denton and Plano starting Friday night. A big focus of O’Rourke’s speeches last weekend revolved around access to health care for all people, universal pre-kindergarten and criminal justice reforms.
