Stuck truck causes traffic jams in Greenwich

February 6, 2019

GREENWICH — A too-tall tractor-trailer got stuck under the railroad bridge on Steamboat Road in central Greenwich, causing traffic delays during the Wednesday morning rush-hour.

The stuck truck was reported at 6:28 a.m. at the underpass near the Greenwich train station, police said.

No injuries were reported, but there traffic was congested until the tractor-trailer was cleared a few hours later, police said.

A yellow sign on the bridge says the clearance is 12 feet, 2 inches. The truck was clearing through to the other side when it became stuck.
