Firefighters respond to massive fire at Olmsted Falls condominium complex

OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio — Firefighters responded Thursday morning to a massive fire at an Olmsted Falls condominium complex.

The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. on the 23000 block of Chandlers Lane, according to Olmsted Falls police.

Crews from several departments were still combating the blaze around 12:30 p.m., by which time the fire had spread to all three wings of the three-story apartment complex. There are 48 units in the building, the fire department said.

Officials are doing an inventory to account for all the residents, Olmsted Falls police said.  Many residents made it out safely and congregated on a grassy area where tents had been pitched to provide them shade while they figure out their next steps.
