Defender Ali Krieger and midfielders Allie Long and Morgan Brian earned spots on the U.S. Women’s World Cup roster.
All three were widely considered to be on the bubble for the 23-player roster announced Thursday by coach Jill Ellis.
Krieger started against Belgium on April 7, her first appearance since an exhibition against Russia on April 6, 2017. It will be the third World Cup for the 34-year-old right back, who has 99 international appearances.
Brian was the youngest player on the Americans’ 2015 World Cup championship team in Canada but has struggled with injuries since. Long will be at her first World Cup after going to the 2016 Olympics.
The tournament in France opens June 7.
