TAYLORVILLE, Ill. — Residents in central Illinois are assessing the damage after rare December tornadoes, including one the day before that was a half-mile-wide, ripped roofs off homes, downed power lines and injured at least 20 people. The severe weather in Illinois was part of a line of thunderstorms that raked areas of the central U.S. late Friday and into Saturday, killing one person in Missouri. — RIVIAN AUTOMOTIVE-ELECTRIC VEHICLES: Interest is growing in central Illinois about Rivian Automotive’s electric pickup truck that was recently unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
— MUSIC-QUEEN TOUR: Queen and Adam Lambert are launching a six-week North American tour following the release of the Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The 23-date tour will include stops in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and other cities.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. — For the first time all season, the Bears are showing flaws in their play on defense following a 30-27 overtime loss to the New York Giants. Saquon Barkley had 125 yards for the most rushing yards by a back against the Bears defense all season, and the secondary that produced big plays was beaten with a trick play, with a big game against the Los Angeles Rams looming Sunday night at Soldier Field.
