George Washington’s law book on display in Boston
BOSTON (AP) — A law book that belonged to George Washington and has his handwritten notes in the margins is on display at the JFK Library and Museum in Boston.
The 106-page volume contains the first president’s copy of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and other legislation that was passed by the first session of Congress.
Museum officials say it was customary for Congress’ printer to prepare bound copies of acts passed by the legislative branch as keepsakes for the country’s leaders.
The “Acts of Congress” volume will be on display in Boston until June 4.
