Some tickets remain for Ken Burns film premiere

August 29, 2018

Filmmaker Ken Burns talks with media after a presentation about his documentary about Mayo Clinic on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Siebens Building in downtown Rochester.

As of Tuesday morning, an unspecified number of tickets remain for the Sept. 10 premiere of the Ken Burns Mayo Clinic film at Mayo Civic Center.

Although long lines of people picking up the free tickets snaked outside box office windows Monday at the civic center, some tickets were still available. Tuesday morning, said Kelley Luckstein, of Mayo Clinic’s Department of Public Affairs.

The film, “The Mayo Clinic: Faith-Hope-Science,” will be shown at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 in Taylor Arena at the civic center, and will be followed by a discussion featuring Burns; Dr. John Noseworthy, Mayo CEO; and co-directors Erik and Christopher Loren Ewers. Admission is free but tickets are required. The film will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide Sept. 25 and Sept. 26.

A community block party, with music, food and interactive activities, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 10 on the plaza outside the civic center. Admission is free and no tickets are required.
