No. 24 Boston College Tops Seton Hall
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) _ Jessalyn Deveny scored 19 points, and Becky Gottstein added 14 to lead No. 24 Boston College to a 68-58 victory Wednesday night over Seton Hall.
Boston College (17-6, 9-3 Big East) led by 13 points in the second half before Seton Hall climbed back into the game with a 14-4 run that cut the Eagles’ lead to 47-44 with 9:07 left.
Seton Hall (12-11, 6-7) trailed by just one point when Charlene Thomas made a layup with 3:31 to go to make it 53-52.
The Eagles then made four free throws to increase the lead, but Melissa Langelier’s 3-pointer pulled Seton Hall within 57-55.
That was the last basket of the game for the Pirates, however, and the Eagles made 11-of-12 free throws in a 15-6 closing spurt to seal the win.
Cecelia Lindqvist led Seton Hall with 15 points. Thomas added 13 points and six rebounds.
