Circus Circus Enterprises, down 2 13/16 at 21 15/16

Hilton Hotels, down 3/8 at 33 1/4

The companies confirmed that talks for their $2.8 billion deal have ended. Under the agreement, Hilton had planned to split itself in two, and merge Circus Circus with its gambling operations. The new combination would have controlled as much a quarter of the hotel rooms on the Las Vegas Strip and almost a third of the cash flow there.

Delta Airlines, down 4 1/16 at 114 3/8

Alaska Air, down 4 at 52 15/16

American West Airlines, down 1 7/8 at 12 5/8

Southwest Airlines, down 2 3/8 at 27 3/4

The world’s biggest petroleum exporters said they would slash production to boost sagging oil prices. Analysts predicted retail gasoline prices will inch higher in coming weeks, which would likely raise costs of fuel for airlines.


Ultra Pac

Ivex Packaging Corp. will buy Ultra Pac, a maker of plastic containers and packaging for the food industry, for about $63.6 million in cash.

Fort Bend Holding, up 7 3/4 at 28 1/2

Millers Mutual Fire Insurance Co. has offered to acquire Fort Bend, which is the parent of Fort Bend Federal Savings & Loan Association, for $28 to $32 a share.

Creative Computers, down 2 3/32 at 8 21/32

The Torrance, Calif.-based direct marketer of personal computers and related products said it expects to take a first quarter charge as it plans to close six of its seven retail stores and eliminate about 150 positions.
