Stepmother Says Diana Was in Love
LONDON (AP) _ Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed had found true love, ``the kind you can look for all your life and never find,″ her stepmother was quoted as saying in The Mirror newspaper Saturday.
``This was real love,″ the tabloid quoted Countess Raine Spencer as saying. ``I know because they both told me.″
Diana, 36, Dodi, 42, and chauffeur Henri Paul, 41, were killed in a Paris car crash on Aug. 31.
``People should know the truth about their relationship, rather than what the rumor mongers with their own agendas would have us believe,″ the newspaper quoted the countess as saying.
The Mirror reported that in the four years after Diana’s father’s death in 1992, Diana and her stepmother ``turned from foes to friends.″
``I loved her, what more can I say? And I think by the end she loved me too. I hope she did,″ the newspaper quoted Diana’s stepmother as saying.
