Man arrested in connection to armed robbery in Huntington
HUNTINGTON - The Huntington Police Department arrested one man Monday afternoon in connection to an armed robbery at an area bar.
Charles Cooley is charged with armed robbery after police allege he presented what appeared to be a handgun at an establishment in the 200 block of 4th Avenue Monday afternoon and stole an undisclosed amount of money, said Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial. There were patrons in the establishment at the time of the incident, Dial said.
A description of the suspect was released and a Huntington detective later spotted Cooley at an 8th Street gas station, where he was arrested.
Three others who were with him at the time of his arrest were questioned, and Dial said the investigation continues and more charges may be pending.
As of press time, Cooley had not been booked in the Western Regional Jail, according to booking records.
