Robert Morris men’s basketball rolls to easy win in Ireland

Robert Morris used a big second half and rolled to an easy 105-66 victory against Neptune Basketball Club in Cork, Ireland on Thursday.

It was the first game for the Colonials during their International Tour to Ireland.

Senior Matt McConnell scored 21 points, sophomore forward Koby Thomas added 20 and sophomore forward Chris Bain had 19.

RMU led 49-43 at halftime but outscored the Irish club 56-23 in the second half.

“It’s nice to have basketball season in August,” RMU coach Andy Toole said in a release. “At halftime, we talked about defensive urgency. We really tightened it up in the third quarter.”

The Colonials return to action Sunday against Moycullen Basketball Club in Galway, Ireland.
