Threat forces school evacuation
BARBOURSVILLE — A bomb threat made against Village of Barboursville Elementary School on Tuesday caused students to be evacuated from the building before investigators cleared the scene.
The elementary students were moved to Barboursville Middle School, according to Cabell County Schools Communications Director Jedd Flowers, since the threat did not include the middle school.
The Barboursville Police Department handled the investigation, which is ongoing, and the West Virginia State Police also brought a bomb dog to the school to clear it before students were allowed to return, a Barboursville official said.
The students, who all were safe, returned to the school at about 2 p.m. for normal pickup.
