GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — East Carolina has suspended two receivers indefinitely for violating undisclosed team policies.
Coach Ruffin McNeill announced the suspensions of junior Danny Webster and redshirt freshman Quataye Smyre on Tuesday.
Webster has started four games and ranks third on the team with 18 catches for 144 yards, and also has seen action on the punt-return and kickoff-return teams.
Smyre has played in two of the Pirates’ last three games and has three receptions for 19 yards.
McNeill says he and his coaches “talk about being accountable as a program and any behavior that contradicts that is unacceptable.”
