Food distribution is set at area church Tuesday

January 5, 2019

LEBANON -- St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Lebanon will host a Ruby’s Pantry “pop-up pantry” Tuesday.

All participants must fill out a new registration form each year in January. Forms will be available at the church, or individuals may go online to www.rubyspantry.org for the 2019 guest registration form to print off and have ready.

Registration opens at 4 p.m. and continues until 6:30 p.m. Distribution of food begins at 5 p.m. and continues until 6:30 p.m. or until all shares are gone. This month, 300 shares will be available.

St. Peter’s hosts the event the second Tuesday of each month. Ruby’s Pantry brings a semi-load of surplus food to Lebanon to be shared with anyone wanting to participate. Guests should bring two large laundry baskets or boxes per share to transport the food home. Each share contains some meat/protein, pizza, potatoes, dairy, bread and/or baked goods, vegetables and a variety of other food products as well as paper goods.

There are no income or residency requirements to attend a Ruby’s Pantry food distribution. Ruby’s receives no state or federal funding and is funded primarily by the $20 donation per share to help cover operational costs.

Those interested in becoming a volunteer should call the church office at 920-925-3547. For updates, follow Ruby’s Pantry, St. Peter’s, Lebanon WI on Facebook.

St. Peter’s is located 7 miles northeast of Watertown on the corner of county highways MM and R.
