Pickup crashes into Houston tree, kills 1, injures 2 others
HOUSTON (AP) — Police are investigating a crash in southeast Houston where a pickup truck hit a tree, killing one man and injuring the driver and one other person.
The Houston Chronicle reports that a Chevrolet Silverado is believed to have taken a curve too fast early Saturday before crashing near Hobby Airport. The tree was split in half and the driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital, where one later died.
Houston police Sgt. David Rodriguez said investigators are working to determine if the driver was drunk at the time of the crash, and could file intoxicated manslaughter charges.
The people involved in the crash have yet to be identified.
