Woman dies during scuba diving training in lake
NEW HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police in Connecticut say a Massachusetts woman has died while attempting to complete her deep water swimming certification.
New Hartford police say 51-year-old Carol Driscoll, of East Longmeadow, did not respond for some “unknown reason” when her instructor signaled her to surface the water during deep dive training Saturday at West Hill Pond.
The instructor went in after Driscoll and found her unresponsive.
Life-saving efforts were performed at the scene.
She was taken to a Torrington hospital, then transferred to Hartford Hospital where she died Sunday.
