Third Wisconsin Republican convention delegate withdraws
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A third Republican from Wisconsin has withdrawn as a delegate to the national convention that’s slated to begin on Monday in Cleveland.
Julian Bradley told The Associated Press via email Tuesday that he had withdrawn as a delegate representing the 3rd Congressional District. Bradley did not give a reason for his withdrawal and did not respond to an email seeking explanation.
The Republican Party has not yet named a replacement.
Earlier this month the party announced that Michael Grebe and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch withdrew as delegates also.
Bradley would have been bound to cast his vote for presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump because Trump won the 3rd Congressional District in Wisconsin’s primary. Bradley is running for the state Assembly and ran unsuccessfully for secretary of state in 2014.
