Labor Secretary Undergoes Eye Surgery
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Secretary of Labor William E. Brock underwent eye surgery Tuesday at Georgetown University Hospital, a Labor Department spokeswoman said.
Brock, 56, suffered a detached retina during the weekend and was admitted to the hospital for observation Sunday night, said spokeswoman Ann Amling. Doctors decided to operate on the secretary Tuesday.
Brock’s condition was not immediately available.
Brock has served as labor secretary since April 29, 1985, when he replaced former secretary Raymond Donovan.
