Jon Litner Joins NHL Front Office

NEW YORK (AP) _ Jon Litner, in charge of programming at ABC Sports, will become the NHL’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Litner, the network’s senior vice president of programming, will be responsible for the management, development and planning of all business operations of the NHL office.

``We are delighted to have someone as talented as Jon join the league as we continue to grow the game,″ NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said Wednesday. ``Jon’s background in sports and sports broadcasting makes him a perfect addition to the dedicated and talented team at the NHL.″

Litner has been with ABC Sports since 1991. He begins his new job on Dec. 6.

``As a lifelong hockey fan, I look forward to working with each of our clubs and our business partners to continue the growth of the league and the sport of hockey,″ he said.
