ASHLAND, Ky. — During the Ashland Lions Club’s latest civic meeting, members were visited by Kentucky Lions District Gov. Mary Wethington. The visit allowed the club to pass along its donation to help benefit the area. Wethington accepted nearly 1,300 pairs of eyeglasses that have been collected by the Ashland Lions and throughout the community. The glasses will benefit those with eyesight needs.

The Ashland Lions Club was chartered on Feb. 12, 1924, and is one of the Tri-State’s oldest service clubs. The club meets every Tuesday at noon at the Ashland Elks Lodge. For information on becoming a member, contact Travis Womack, club membership chairman, at 606-571-2124.
