Person hit by Metro-North train near Stamford

STAMFORD — The New Haven line of Metro-North is delayed after a person was hit by a train near Stamford Friday evening.

“We are able to still run service through the area, we’re just expecting delays,” a Metro-North spokeswoman said just before 7 p.m.

She said the person was hit around 6:50 p.m., but she said she wasn’t able to confirm if the person was dead.

Metro-North said around 7:15 p.m. that New Haven Line customers should expect delays between 30 to 35 minutes because of the person hit by a train near Stamford.
