Police say vehicle strikes, kills woman and flees scene

October 7, 2018

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say a vehicle has struck and killed a woman and they are searching for the vehicle and its driver, who fled the scene.

Toledo police say 45-year-old Tammy Zanter was killed about 11 p.m. Saturday on a street on the city’s east side. Police said they were still searching for the suspect Sunday. They think the vehicle may have been a gray minivan that likely has damage to the front end.

Authorities say the Toledo woman appeared to have been in the road next to the curb when she was hit. Police say they don’t know why she was in that location.
