DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Miami Dolphins right tackle Ja’Wuan James has been placed on injured reserve because of a left hamstring injury, ending his season. James was hurt in last Sunday night’s loss to Oakland. Jesse Davis, who has two career starts, will take over at right tackle Monday night at Carolina, ending James’ streak of 25 consecutive starts.
DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Lions have activated tackle Taylor Decker from the physically-unable-to-perform list. Decker has been out all season because of a shoulder injury. He started every game for the Lions as a rookie last season after being drafted in the first round. Detroit also activated tackle Corey Robinson and waived wide receiver Jace Billingsley.
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have promoted wide receiver and punt returner JoJo Natson from the practice squad. He’ll likely be active tomorrow against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The speedy, 5-foot-7 Natson will help replace Jeremy Kerley, the Jets’ primary punt returner who was suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancers.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Jail records show that Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Roy Miller has been arrested in Florida on a domestic battery charge. The records show Miller was jailed early this morning by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. No details were available. Miller is to make an initial appearance before a judge later today.
SAO PAULO (AP) — Valtteri Bottas has claimed pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix. His Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton crashed on the first lap during qualifying and will start at the back of the grid tomorrow. He wasn’t injured. Bottas will be shooting for this third victory this season to match wins in Russia and Austria.
