Youth Philanthropy contest returning to Diller

October 11, 2018

The Diller Community Foundation Fund is once again sponsoring the Youth Philanthropy Contest for young citizens to help their community change and grow.

Diller community youth are asked to consider how they could save something, create something or change something that will benefit others.

It could be something you have already started doing or a completely new idea. Answers to these questions will help ensure a strong idea: How would you like to make a difference in your community? How would you like to serve or help others?

The contest is open to youth in kindergarten through 22 years of age living in the Diller area or going to Diller-Odell Public Schools. Individuals, small groups, clubs or classes are eligible to apply. The foundation fund encourages youth groups or students working together to plan and complete a project. Four entries will be selected to receive up to $500 each to help finance the project.

The foundation fund is looking for projects that have a positive impact in the community or school and can be completed by March 31, 2020. Applications are due Dec. 1, 2018, and the winners will be announced after Jan. 1, 2019.

Applications can be requested by contacting the Diller Community Foundation Fund at foundation@diodecom.net or are available at Diller-Odell Public Schools. For additional information about this opportunity, contact Beth Roelfs at 402-793-5556.

Youth are encourage to use their creativity, energy, passion and interest to serve the community by applying today, a press release stated.

The Diller Community Foundation Fund is an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation.
