Second body found at house fire, 2 dead may be brothers

November 8, 2017

RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a second body was found at the scene of a fire that burned a Renton house Friday.

KOMO-TV reported that investigators were able to enter the home Tuesday and found a man’s body in a bedroom.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says it appeared the man died as a result of the fire.

On Friday, a man’s body was found in the backyard of the house in the 16500 block of 146th Avenue Southeast.

Investigators say a 68-year-old man lived at the house and that his 65-year-old brother had once lived there. The younger brother disappeared in 2015, but a missing persons report wasn’t filed.

Investigators believe the man in the yard was the younger brother and that he didn’t die of foul play.

The fire started in the bedroom where the older brother was found and has been ruled accidental.
