Shooting Reported In South Side Home Invasion

October 10, 2018

SCRANTON — A home invasion Tuesday night in South Scranton ended with a masked man firing a bullet through a door before fleeing, city police said. A woman and her boyfriend were in their kitchen on the 800 block of Moosic at about 10:25 p.m. when a man in a mask opened a screen door and told them to get on the ground, Capt. Dennis Lukasewicz said. Instead, they slammed the door on him and the assailant fired a bullet through the door. No one was injured. The man fled after firing his weapon. He was described as a thin man standing 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a green mask. It was not clear what kind of mask it was. Anyone with information should contact the detectives at 570-348-4139. — JOSEPH KOHUT
