Flanders to offer needle felting class

September 7, 2018

WOODBURY — Join Rachel Gerowe of Redbarn Originals for needle felting night at the Flanders Nature Center.

Needle felting is an easy-to-learn craft that involves using a barbed needle to sculpt wool. Needle felting can be used to create flat sheets or three dimensional shapes, which makes it ideal for doll-making and soft sculpture.

Participants can attend for $10 and choose to either bring their own project to be given guidance and support on or purchase a kit for an additional fee. Assorted kits will be available, ranging in price from $10-$35.

On Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., dogs will be the featured kit. On Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m., it will be owls and snowmen that will be featured.

Participants can save $5 if they bring their own needles and foam. Beginners welcome. Both classes will be held at the Flanders’ Studio, 5 Church Hill Road in Woodbury.

To learn more or register for the programs call 203-263-3711 Ext. 10.
