Former Santa Rosa teachers charged with improper relationship with students

By Diana Eva Maldonado, Staff writerMay 15, 2019

The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office says it arrested two former Santa Rosa school teachers on charges of having inappropriate relationships with students among other charges.

The DA’s office says Josue Cepeda, 35, and Isaac Flores, 24, were both teachers and coaches with the district.

In a news release, the DA’s office says allegations were made against both men in May 2018, but Santa Rosa school district officials took no action and did not report the allegations to police.

In February, the Homeland Security Investigation’s Child Exploitation Task Force received phone tips about the alleged relationships the men had with students.
