Fairfield Prep announces Entrepreneurship Institute
FAIRFIELD — Fairfield Prep will launch a program next fall designed to offer entrepreneurial studies and an off campus learning experience.
The Fairfield Prep Entrepreneurship Institute for the 2019-20 academic year. It will be an elective for juniors and seniors.
Participants will develop a “Start Up” plan and then get to spend time in manufacturing plants, venture capital firms, law firms, and other businesses that have yet to be named.
The “StartUp” will compete for the chance to move on to a similar competition at Fairfield University where monetary awards are available.
President Rev. Tom Simisky, S.J., explains said the institute is unique because it weaves together entrepreneurship learning with Jesuit tradition.
The program has been started with a seed investment from Boston-based alumnus, Greg Strakosch, Prep class of 1980 who is the chief executive officer of a tech company.
