Bank West Financial Chairman Dies
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) _ George A. Jackoboice, chairman of the Bank West Financial Corp. has died.
He died while vacationing in Europe with his wife Sherry. His age and further details were not immediately available.
Jackoboice had been chairman of Bank West Financial Corp.’s board since 1994. He also was a member of the Bank West board of director’s since 1978 and chairman of the bank’s board since 1992.
``We are all very saddened by George’s sudden passing,″ said Bank West president and chief executive officer Ronald A. Van Houten. ``He was considered to be a major contributor to the enhancement of franchise value and future direction of the bank. His wisdom and enthusiasm for the success and growth of the Bank will be sorely missed.″
Robert J. Stephan, vice chairman of the Bank West Financial Corp. board, will handle the business until a successor is appointed, Van Houten said.
