Rangers put Clark on 15-Day DL

June 19, 1999

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ The Texas Rangers placed Mark Clark on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with soreness in his right elbow.

The right-hander pitched 1 1-3 innings in Saturday’s 7-4 loss to the Boston Red Sox.

Clark will have tests on his elbow when the club returns to Texas on Tuesday. He has complained of stiffness in his elbow over his last three or four starts.

The Rangers called up Danny Kolb from Triple-A Oklahoma to replace Clark on the roster. He will be in uniform for Sunday’s game at Boston.

Kolb (3-2), also a right-hander, has a 5.68 ERA in five starts in Oklahoma. He went 1-2 with a 2.79 ERA in seven starts in Tulsa.

Clark (3-7) has an 8.60 ERA in 14 starts.
