Funerals set for 2 Mississippi officers killed last week
BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) — Funerals are now scheduled for two police officers in Mississippi who were shot and killed last week.
Two Brookhaven police officers were shot and killed early Saturday when they responded to a report of shots fired.
News outlets reported the service for 35-year-old Patrolman James White will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven.
The funeral for 31-year-old Cpl. Zach Moak will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the same church.
Twenty-five-year-old Marquis Flowers was shot and wounded during the confrontation. Flowers was taken to a hospital in Jackson. Warren Strain with the Mississippi Department of Public Safety has said charges are pending against Flowers.
